Question about apples listed at bottom of posts

When I saw the post in the screen shot below I figured it earned 22 apples.  So I clicked on it to see all of the awesomeness.  But when I look at it it's only earned two apples.  Wonderful, but where are the 22 apples?  It isn't the apple ranking of the OP because Destiny has way more than 22 apples.  So what does that graphic mean?  Thanks!  

And if this is clearly explained somewhere I should've read before, please delete this post so I can hide my shame...

As I understand, it's a complicated mixture of apples granted, pictures, videos, possibly number of views, and other characteristics that indicate value.

There is a bug.  It is on the list to be mended, but we are currently processing higher priority stuff.
