I found a new company, started in 2015 that is making machined cast iron cookware!! The company is called StargazerStargazer Cast Iron They will start shipping in November 2016.

Thanks for finding this.

We already have an extensive collection of cast iron and our favorite pieces are the older ones where the mfr. took the time to grind the surfaces as smooth as a babies bottom.  I have also done that to some newer Lodge pieces, but it takes a lot of time and elbow grease.

Its pretty neat that the inside is so smooth already. Now if the quality is good.

Looks like they only have one available piece at the moment, a 10.5 skillet.

I might toss this on my X-mass list and see if I get one. If not I might buy one next year.

I like the idea of supporting a made in USA company who is trying to make real functional cast iron cookware.
