I had a big grey field in the vision in my left eye this morning. It went away, but it seems very likely it would be macular degeneration if it did not go away.
I found Chris Knobbe MD's you tube that links AMD to industrial diet/ vegetable oils and sugar, and the data he presented was convincing. His book costs near a hundred US dollars. I asked my library to purchase a copy, but it will be awhile on that. I have not been eating vegetable oils for at least 20 years, don't have sugar at home,I use honey and that sparingly, but I do sometimes eat ice cream and almond toffee from a local confectioner. Knobbe says it is a 30 to 50 year lag between eating the vegetable oils and sugar for the condition we hear called "age related macular degeneration" to develop. His point is that it is not age related as much as numbers of years away from traditional food ways (Weston A Price type stuff).
American Medical Association doctrine is that it is neither reversible nor curable, they recommend an artificial vitamin combination that has been proven to have little effect, and some people even get worse on them, so, though I do have an ophthalmologist in my town, I don't see much reason to go see him. He'll just get in a state of emergency over it, and won'th ave much to offer that I would go along with, so why bother?
I also found an MD in Sante Fe New Mexico who devised what is called the Sante Fe protocol, which utilizes acupuncture, and has reversed the vision loss in some people. He may have retired, but I sent an email to inquire about experienced practitioners of the Sante Fe protocol. If he is only semi retired, I live close enough to go to Sante Fe...
I really don't want to lose my vision because with it would go my independence, and though I accept that years advance my chronological age, I still feel quite healthy and vigorous, and was planning to live another 53 years (to the age of 120, why not?).
And, I am asking this community for any and all experience and knowledge ofage related macular degeneration.
Many thanks
