cotton patch geese

Got a breeding flock of cotton patch geese that I need to get rid of.
Due to health issues it is getting harder and harder to take care of all the poultry we have.
I have help but really need to cut down on what we raise.

I'm pretty sure the Livestock Conservancy is working with Cotton Patch breeders to try and protect the breed lines. You could contact them or use their directory to find someone in your area-

Too bad we aren't moving to Kentucky until March -- I'd take them.  (If you still have them by then, let me know.)  We are in Oregon now, which is too far (and I'm already moving four dogs and a cat across the country, which is enough to deal with).

So far no real interest. It would be a shame to have to put them in the freezer. But it may come to that this winter.

I'm a short drive East of Cincinnati, but I have no experience with birds yet. I was gonna start with a couple of chickens next Spring, but this might be possible, depending on how much and what sort of care and maintenance they require.

We just moved out here several months ago and are still getting settled in, so I'd have to discuss it with the wife and in-laws first.

Are any of them layers?

I sent a private message (or purple moosage) to your account asking for information about your geese a week or two ago, but didn't get a response, along with my current email address.  Maybe you didn't get to see it.  I had assumed you got rid of them already.

I currently own a few Cotton Patch Geese (CPG) and would like to know what line yours are from (if they are pure CPG) or where you got them and how much you'd like for them.  I live in W KY on a farm and have enough room to keep plenty of geese secure.  I would be happy to talk to you on the phone or via email.

Are the females solids, saddlebacks or both?  To be CPG, I expect that all the males all white, maybe a gray feather or so, but no more than that.  Do they have pink or orange bills and feet?

If you know what line your birds are from or where you bought them and they aren't mixed breeds with CPG, feel free to send me a pm.  I'm probably interested in buying them.  Thanks.

Ooooh, if Jim ends up not taking this flock, and of course if you still have them, I would love to get them from you.  I live in Missouri and would gladly travel to pick them up.  I have been wanting to get cotton patch geese for over a year and a half - tried once with hatching eggs without success.  Let me know how many you have, what their history is and your price.  Thanks!
