Hello,

I wasn't sure where to post this and this forum was my baddest choice.  I have a small home garden -- I wanted it permaculture way and that's how I found permies. After reading the posts for a few years now I really would like to have a forum that would bring together home gardeners. No, it is not wrong to ask for it -- home gardens are the legit way to promote permaculture and grow food that tastes like food. We have small farm forum, and urban forum but I truly believe we need home/small garden forum with its unique problems, solutions and applications of the broad ideas of the wholesomeness that is permaculture. Many ideas did not work for me, many did. I'd like to share my experiences with people who, like me, have just a slice of land near their home. What do you think?

The Growies forum has a lot of subforums already.  What specifically would you want to post about?  I'd think most (if not all) topics generated from a "home garden" perspective would fit fine in the Market Garden, Plants, Soil, Mulch, Biodynamic, Permaculture, etc. etc. forums.  Indeed, my assumption is that most gardeners here work solely with a "home garden," and the forum as a whole seems to be getting on just fine.

I like the idea of a 'home garden' forum although I agree with Wes in that there are a lot! of sub forums already.

I think there are many of us here who have a garden and not acres of land.  One thing we can do is add posts to several subforums and that helps cover more territory.

Maybe start in 'urban', add 'permaculture', 'plants', 'trees' , etc?  To do this just use the 'report' button at your post and ask a moderator to add some particular forums.

Seems like there was a discussion of 'victory gardens' here at one time?

As moderators, we generally want about 40 posts on a topic before starting a forum about it. So what if we made a list in this thread of 40 or more posts that we think would fit well into a "Home Garden" forum?

Viola, new ones would be great although I think Joseph meant forty out of what's already here in other forums that would also fit in a 'home garden' forum.
