I think this is the most difficult time of year to start this. Fresh corn, apples coming up, then Halloween & Thanksgiving! You might want to just try cutting out just 1 big carb - either give up potatoes or bread.

When your ready to go full blast, I think it's helpful to be in the midst of a good book about the topic - I like Gary Taubes books because they are heavy on the science. Just don't forget you'll need extra sodium to avoid getting "the Atkins flu."

I think I'm going to go for low carb (with occasional days of very low carb) versus attempted no carb. The drug rep today brought insalata caprese and green beans with ham, along with various sandwiches and a plate of giant cookies. I ate the first two and we'll see if I can stay away from those cookies this afternoon!

(I work in a pediatric office and people bring us food a couple times a week most weeks.)

A good and easy way to get that extra sodium is to have a cup of broth made from bouillon as a snack.
