Hi all,
Just moved with my family to 4 acres east of Cornwall.  Three young kids, pets, chickens - the whole shebang.  Looking forward to starting some gardening etc.

Thought I'd see who else is around. Care to introduce yourself?
Ottawa, Cornwall, Alexandria, Perth, Smiths Falls, Casselman, Maxville?
Say hi, vote for your favourite farmers market!

Hi I am in Apple Hill!  Welcome to Glengarry! I raise beef on pasture and garden. Cut my own firewood. May be putting in an RMH this fall.  I work in Ottawa. Gone 12 hours a day. So progress on the homestead is slow but steady. No shortage of things to do.

Thanks Jeff, nice to meet you. Many homesteaders up your way?  Judging by the number of responses on this thread... no. There seem to be a few Ottawans around.

Welcome from mid-western Ontario. Cornwall area is beautiful.
Take your time, dig your heels in deep but above all make sure you enjoy the journey. As time passes take pride in your achievements.

Hey Dan, sorry I forgot all about this thread.  Ive met a couple of folks homesteading and doing some permaculture in the area. I think we are blessed to be living in an hyper resilient biome.  Fields will be green almost no mater what you do. So Ive not met anyone doing full swales on contour which seems to be the hallmark of permaculture. you can email me at mylastname.myfirstname@gmail.com

Cheers
