I am a biochemistry professor looking at doing a
project this summer. In short, I would mail you a sampling package (vial and plastic ziplock), and you would mail back a sample of your kombucha and a small piece of soiled toilet paper with your stool. I would sequence the bacteria in your kombucha and in your stool. The goal is to see 2 things - 1)the quality of homemade kombuchas compared to those sold in stores and 2)how it changes the users gut biome. If interested go to the link below to sign up.

Ideally we would get participants before starting the use of kombucha to see the difference in their gut biome upon consumption of kombucha, but a comparison to long term users or those switching types/batches could be interesting as well.
Thanks,
