I have a potential project where I'm considering cutting 4-6" birch poles 6' long to use outside as parking spot curb stops.  The issue is that I want the bark on them for longevity and prettiness but the wood will rot within 6 months if the bark is intact.

Is there a way to dry a birch pole so the core won't rot out?  I'd seal the cut ends once it's dry to protect them from external rot.  I'll call a lumber kiln next week to see if they think they could do it.  Anyone else know a way to crack this nut?
