Summary

Located just north of Trumansburg, NY in the beautiful Finger Lakes, we are a permaculture nursery and forest farm research space focused on hardy perennial plants and low and no tech solutions. We are excited to share what we do!

I give this nursery 10 out of 10 acorns.

Sean, a fellow Permie, has created and managed a wonderful nursery in New York providing a wide variety of plants on a small nursery footprint. I have placed two orders with this nursery and have been completely pleased with the cuttings that I received. Every time I go on his website, I find something new that I try and find space for on my homestead. Money well spent.

My third order was for miscanthus grass and it arrived in great condition. The item was shipped promptly after purchase and matched the descriptions provided. It was packed well and with minimal waste materials. Sean has really figured out a system and a rhythm that works for him when it comes to logistics and it shows in the details.

I would recommend this nursery to everyone.

I love Edible Acres.  The plant material is always super high quality (even their grade B stuff is awesome), very healthy, and packed to ensure it gets to you safe and not completely desiccated.  Their Youtube channel is always a wealth of information and you can find multiple videos with helpful information (light and water requirements, habit, site selection, companions, uses) about the plants they sell.  Cannot recommend highly enough, would rate more than 10/10 acorns if I could.

My only gripe is that they sell out of the things I want so fast.  This year I was 18 minutes late to when the sale went live and the two things I was most interested in were already sold out.  (Honestly though, I can't even be too bummed, because that means Sean &co are doing well and somebody out there is going to grow those plants and maybe make them available in their area, so even if I couldn't get my mitts on this time, I'll be able to eventually.)

I’ve been following Sean on YouTube for a very long time, where he has provided a lot of great free info. He supplied me with a large order of Pawpaw seeds at a good price when I wanted to test them for cold-hardiness. And I created my Permies account because Sean mentioned it on a video!

Just ordered some bamboo from them. Very excited to have another evergreen feed source for the goats.
