Broadfork_home made

Felt the need to have my own broadfork instead of constanstly borrowing one from friends.
The meadow Creature is very awesome tool but, I'm not at the place where I can reasonably afford one so, I made 2 for the price of 1.

Designed up in CAD software, local machine shop plasma cut the blades per 3d model.
Had a market gardener friend weld it up.

Works amazingly well. Very heavy, serious tool.

You mention that it's heavy, and it looks quite sturdy.  You don't feel it's too heavy, do you?

Personally I don't mind the weight as I'm used to insane amounts of manual labor.  
I'd be be concerned that a lighter tool wouldn't handle the demanding work I expect of it.

I'd say it's too heavy for someone not used to using heavy tools for sure, it's a work out just lugging the thing around not to mention prying up compacted sod.

I absolutely love do-it-yourself ingenuity and your broadfork is really one of the best examples I have ever seen.  Congratulations on a job extremely well done.  Congratulations further for making a (apparently high quality) solution instead of purchasing an off the shelf substitute.

If I had the money, I'd have a shop making all kinds of quality tools. I can't stand the 'mediocre at best' quality tools provided most stores.
I'd rather spend far to many hours making my own stuff than waste money on landfill ornaments. Besides, it's fun making things.

Many things to look forward to in the future.
