My friend and I are leading a four part series of
permaculture design classes at Nicolet College. If you happen to live within commuting distance of Rhinelander, WI, this might be of interest to you. This is oriented at people who know a bit about
permaculture and want to start to apply it to their site.
From the syllabus:
Join homesteaders and
permaculture enthusiasts Mike Haasl and Aimee Heavey for a four-session
workshop that goes more in-depth about a number of
permaculture principles and how to apply them to your personal property.
In doing so, you’ll learn how to take advantage of natural processes to enhance the form and function of your property.
Each class will begin with an overview of two or three different design elements and topics. We’ll follow this with an open design forum where instructors guide and help you develop your site plan.
Students will need to bring a map of their property, which is available at county courthouses or can be printed from home by using mytopo.com, Google Earth, or Google Maps. Students are also encouraged to bring along colored pencils or design markers, a ruler, and tracing paper.
Fee is $100 for the entire series or $35 per class.
