I am unable to post an image or picture - is there a secret code or handshake?

I have a 2020 MacBook Pro and recent operating system.

I typed in the body of the post a few words as instructed below and typed a few test words as a "brief description"

I have reduced the size of the image to 16kb and tried several different images from large to small

In the "files to be uploaded" field is my photo labeled:  Photo on 1-6-22 at 4.48 PM.jpeg

I am registered and this is my first post

In the post labeled "How to post an image on Permies.com" I have completed each step below,... but nothing appears after clicking "preview"

If your image is on your device and you don't feel like uploading it anywhere online, you can just attach it directly to your post.


   Write out the body of your post.

   At the bottom of the post, you'll see some tabs - click on 'Attachments'.

   Click 'Choose File', and select the photo you would like to upload, keeping in mind the file name will be visible to everyone.

   Add a brief description of your photo.

   When your post is done, click 'Submit'

If this works there will be a picture of my sister's cat


Testing

I was pretty sure the preview doesn't show uploaded pictures, probably to make it easier on people with slow internet.  With the photo above I could not see it in preview but as you can see, it does successfully upload. So long as you aren't getting an error message you should be good to  submit.  

If you have already tried this, please let us know an a more technically skilled volunteer can look for more issues.

Thank you Casie for the quick response. Since you are a gardener i will test posting one photo of my own.

then Attachments at thy bottom of the posting area,
upload a file
pick a file off my computer,..
hmm it says files to be uploaded: and lists the wasp.JPG file I chose
but preview shows no picture.

Edit: But when I hit submit the picture shows up.
I just needed to agree to submit.
