Hi Skye,
This may be a stretch but I figured I might as well put it out there. As you said, it’s early, and if nothing else, you can keep it in your minds as a potential opportunity to consider over the coming months.
What I can’t offer is being an established
permaculture practitioner. What I can offer is the opportunity to create a
permaculture plan snd implement it.
I feel like the skills the two of you have would work well here, both on my land and in the greater
local community. There’s quite a bit of agriculture going on here still but it’s all pretty small scale. There’s also plenty of work in the construction field (and as everywhere in this country, plenty of an under-served community).
You can look up some of my other posts to learn more about my place and what I’m trying to create but in short, I have 80 off-grid acres in southern Oregon, outside the town of Ashland. There is a wonderful spring that produces plenty of
water to take care of all our needs, including a fair amount of agriculture. There are some cabins in the process of being finished, with plenty of room to grow. Despite being 20 minutes from town, the property is fully wild, with all manner of local fauna (except for the wolf) and an incredible variety of flora. In fact, it is said this region is one of the most biodiverse on the planet. My property fall within the cascade-siskiyou national monument, set up to preserve and celebrate that biodiversity.
Anyway, that’s probably enough to start. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to discuss the opportunity further. Same for anyone else reading this post.
Good luck in your search.
