Yeah, long story short, I've had an interest in natural building and off-grid living since I was a teenager. One of my main goals in life is to build a tiny cob house for myself. Unfortunately, finding a place to do that has proven difficult, though I was able to build a shed out of it.

Other relevant interests I have (aka  things I would spend all my time tinkering with if I wasn't broke and living in a tiny apartment) include:
ethanol production (basically want to build my own still and make ethanol for my van from feedstocks other than corn)
biogas production (mainly curious about the feasibility of using biogas to power a generator for the aforementioned still)
renewable energy

Anyway, yeah, how it took me over a decade to find this forum is  beyond me. I look forward to talking to you all.

Welcome to Permies!

Sounds like a fun goal and fun hobbies! I'm interested in cob too, but I don't have anything I need to build that I could use it for at the moment. Maybe one day.

Welcome Evan! It took me awhile to sign on to Permies as well, even though I landed here for countless project and information searches. It's a really great community to be part of.
