Certainly true, fairies, get their share from the wood cask (barrels) , different climates equal different amounts disappearing. Here the options are huge, as far as the actual barrel, type of char, previous use if any and the list goes on.
But once in a bottle just as Tom states, it would be case of evaporation and the taste, should be nearly identical to the day it was bottled. Now or many years from now. But still a good keep.
