Firewood fall 2025

Today, they delivered next year's load of firewood.
I still had a 1/4 of the load left over from last year!
After talking to my firewood supplier, I had her send another full load this year.
They plan to relocate the logging operation to an area with a predominance of pine and cedar next year.
With Shorty in the house, the Shop dragon has been rebuilt, and a new double bell Dragon in the studio. I expect my wood use to plummet.

Great to have a full woodshed! Our wood was delivered a couple weeks ago, so is already away.

How much land do you have thomas? You may want to consider planting a little coppice area, as coppice wood just needs cutting to length since you don't need or want large diameter stuff for a rocket stove - no more spiltting! Hardwood also tends to burn hotter, so again you need less volume

Hi Nancy;
We have 13 acres, most of it timbered.
I attempted to grow black locust a few years ago, with coppicing in mind.
The local deer & elk showed me what they thought of my plan...
I imagine they were tasty, tasty, seeing as they ate everyone.
I currently have seaberries growing, wrapped in wire cages, and the tops have been eaten on all of them!
My wood use went down last year with Shorty core joining the Weyr, this year the shop dragon is rebuilt, and the studio dragon is about to be rebuilt.
I plan to use only a small portion of that wood delivery next year.
