Step 1:  be kind, and help others

Step 2:  support the kickstarters, buy the products, buy PIE ...

Our expenses keep going up every year.  The funds that come in from the many things pay for the many things.

You will notice a distinct lack of non-permie ads.  And we don't sell your info to anybody, so this is not one of those "you are the product" things.

I find (for me) the monthly purchase of PIE to be worth every penny, and an easy way to consistently help support the site. Permies has changed much of my life for the better, and I've gained so much from supporting the kickstarters, and actually feel good in sharing the kickstarter links on social media, to draw others to them. That ends up adding to the support of permies and helping people I care about to improve their lives, too. Couldn't be easier...

And if you can't afford to buy pie or awesome permies stuff, you can keep this site thriving by extending Step 1 (be nice) to:

  • Making helpful threads! Learn something cool? Share it here on permies! Experimenting with something permaculture related? Post about it here! Share what you're learning and doing...and you might just learn more helpful stuff!
  • Ask your questions here on permies! This doesn't just help you find answers, it helps other permies, and it might bring someone else to permies when they search Google for the same thing you just asked.
  • Help others! If someone has a question and you have some related knowledge, or want to research to help them, reply to their thread
  • You could even sell your stuff in our Digital Market! This helps you, and helps permies!

Looking at that list, I notice that a lot of stuff you can do to help permies also helps you. That's pretty cool!

I like my pie subscription, not only for the pie perks but also to feel like I'm supporting a movement that is making a slow but sure difference in the world.
Permies is the only forum I parcipate in and have learned so much in the time I've been here.
I love to hear especially of younger generations giving a homesteading lifestyle a go...lightens my world view.....

Eliminate 95% of the weeds in your lawn by mowing 3 inches or higher. Then plant tiny ads:
