Kitchen Storage Options for Root Vegetables

I've found myself in a bit of a conundrum recently. We ended up rearranging our kitchen and now where we put out potatoes appears to be getting more light because they are starting to turn green. Perhaps I was spoiled in being able to keep some root veggies out on the counter but now I have to adapt.

How do you store root vegetables in your kitchen? Would a wicker storage something or another be a good option, something that could be tucked under countertop?

Paper bag or cloth bag tucked in a low cupboard does the job. The main thing is definitely keeping light out, wicker alone won't help unless wherever you're putting it is already dark. We used to keep ours on a shelf in the pantry and got the same problem after a reorganise, moved them inside a cupboard and it sorted itself out.
