Queer Permie Community/people

Hi everyone! I'm about to finish school in the next year or so and I'd like to jump right back into homesteading/permaculture (living in NY right now, probably going to relocate to wherever sometime in 2016). I'm a GWM looking to meet like minded gay men. I'm also open to meeting other queer permies in general, and seeing what sort of a community is out there. Drop a line in you'd like to know more about me or tell me about yourself

Secondly, I think you'll find that there are plenty of queer permies (in all senses of the word). I know that the Phoenix permie crowd is probably slightly more than "10%". Hopefully you'll get a great response here.

Jennifer, what is the permaculture scene like in Phoenix? I've lived in Washington or NY all of my life so I'm not familiar with that region or climate

Phoenix and Tucson have quite a bit going on - surprisingly enough. Here in Phoenix our local permaculture group - the Valley Permaculture Alliance - has about 6000 members. Because we're in a desert, we focus a LOT on water harvesting, especially methods that are appropriate in urban settings. Thanks to Brad Lancaster and Watershed Management Group, AZ has some of the best (most lenient) water harvesting and greywater laws in the nation.

I sit on the advisory committee for both orgs and right now we are preparing for Water Month (April). So I've been busy bastardizing songs.....
