Helping Paul Wheaton

So, I've been listening to the permies podcasts lately, starting at the beginning. I've listened to 1-20 now, and about 10 or 15 more that weren't in any particular order.

In some of them, especially early ones, Paul expresses some... "discontentment"... with people who claimed they were going to help post links online and generally spread the good word, but then flaked out and left it all on him.
There are a few times where he asks listeners to post certain things on their page/blog/group/whatever as a thank you for the podcast. There's one about a link to permies with certain wording, one about chickens, etc.

Is there a comprehensive list of all these?
I was already doing this with hugelkultur, going into conventional gardening pages/forums/groups and talking about how great my hugelkultur bed is doing, answering questions, directing them to richsoil.com/hugelultur, then I heard Paul mention he wished more people did this and specifically what would help. I'd like to do more.

When i say "List of these", i guess specifically by "these" i meant "things Paul directly asked his listeners to do in exchange for the podcast"

They involve a method called "search engine optimization" that he talks about in one of the podcasts (which one I can't remember, though maybe 103 "eco poser test"). I think in one he specifically says "make a post about chickens on your blog. Make a hyperlink with the word "chickens" to the podcast."

Or something like that. There are several of these where he asks for a specific link, with specific wording, posted specific ways, so that it will show up better in search engines and/or reach more people.

"Paul: A bunch of people said they would take on a lot of the jobs that I do every day with a lot of my material, and thus framed me up for the podcast. So I guess that is an important thing. If you are listening to this podcast there is a price tag on it. You got to make a link to it from something or going to something of mine, at least one link.

Jocelyn: Post a video. Link them on your Facebook page, on your blog, on your website. It is easy and quick. "
He gets more specific about what, how, and where later.

I'd re-listen to all the same podcasts and write them down, but I'd hate to drop 40+ hours on doing that if there's already a list.

Yes, I remember saying that.  

I think about four people actually did a few of the things.  

Google "lawn care".  Poison, poison, poison.   If everybody that listened to that podcast made a link to my lawn care article, it would be at the top.  


....   try 100 things, 2 will work out, and you never know in advance which 2.

This is one that did not work out.

Where would be helpful to post the link? I can share on Facebook and such. If you create a thread with the links you think are most important maybe more permies will share it. Sorry that people are flaky and insincere.  It's been my experience as well

I think it's super helpful to just share the ones that make sense. So, if you're on facebook and someone has a question about chickens, share the chicken article (https://richsoil.com/raising-chickens.jsp) or a favotite thread on permies. I like to join gardening groups and follow different pages, and when people have questions, I share links to helpful threads on permies, or articles on richsoil.

If you have a blog, you can make hyperlinks to articles on richsoil, or good posts on permies. The more good sites link to ours, the more search engines like us.

Another thing you can do if you're on facebook, is follow our facebook page and like the posts and comment on them. Share them if they are good (I try to make them shareable and good, but I totally understand no sharing things that don't make sense for your audience/friends). Just liking and commenting means facebook shows the posts to more people. It's sad when we share a giveaway, and of the 6,000+ people following the page, only 400 even SEE it. But, if people who see it, interact with it, facebook shows it to more people! I think this helps with SEO, too, especially if it gets shared.

I'm sure Paul has more/better things to say on this!

Sometimes you read a blog and they say "I'm not sure if that makes grass grow better" and you can add a link in the comments.

Okay. I've shared the one on hugelkultur on tumblr and I'll add it to Facebook later. I'll hunt for others that are relevant to the groups I'm in
