Hi everyone

My name is Rusty, my wife is Meghann. We have two young boys. We have completely worked our way out of debt.(which should say a lot) We don't really like the modern lifestyle of fast pace, consumption greediness of my generation. I love the idea of old fashioned farming and self sufficiency. We have put into practice what we believe, where we can. We are looking for a place we can work the land and live for free rent. We live and are looking in the Rocky Mountains. We would love to stay In New Mexico Colorado Utah or Idaho. I'm an early riser, been getting up at 4 am for years.

Thanks for your interest

Hi Rusty! Welcome to permies!

This might not be quite what you're looking for, though I think this could be a good opportunity for you all!

A fellow permies member, Charley McDowell, created a thread called Tiny Home Parking. He is offering to let people park their tiny home(s) on his property in Northern California. He is a veteran builder and is willing to help people build a tiny home, if they want. For more information and to talk with Charley McDowell, please visit his thread! If the land is taken care of well, he is open to allowing the right people to become permanent caretakers of the land. I do no know what the specifics of this entail. I suggest talking with him!

If the above does not end up being what you were looking for, I advise going to the Travel Ideas thread. I have listed ideas for travelling, finding permaculture opportunities, and more in that thread!

I hope you find this helpful!

What's the latest, Rusty? Have you and Meghann found a situation? Do you have an update for us, or an addition to your description of what you are seeking?

Or we might never have existed at all. Freaky. So we should cherish everything. Even this tiny ad:
