Hello all you fantastic permie peeps!

The folks at the local non-profit group Northwest Permaculture Convergence have banded together to add some cool new programs to our mission! We have created an online DIRECTORY for all local practitioners to add their names, farms, projects and businesses:

Ever wonder how to connect with folks in your local county?
Ever want to use a local permaculture business but don't know how to find one?
Ever vacation in your bioregion and want to visit a regional project or farm? Or stay at one?

Our DIRECTORY has FREE listings, up to 150 characters to describe your permie interests or project/business. To help support our work (and pay for our webmaster!) we have paid upgrades too; a measly $10 yearly gets you a total of 500 characters of description, and for you big spenders - $50 buys 500 characters, your name or business placed at the TOP of your county listing in the COLOR of your choice, and you get to include a logo with your listing!

So give us a visit: https://www.northwestpermaculture.org/directory.html

Submit your listing. Let your permie freak flag fly!

Looks interesting but I have a question for you about the counties list. It seems really limited and does not cover what I have always thought of as Cascadia. For example the county I live in Thurston County at the southern most end of the Puget Sound is not listed... I'm assuming that it is just not finished yet? I'm interested in listing my permaculture homestead once my website goes live at the end of June but I wanted to make sure I could actually post it.

I really like the idea of having a directory of permaculture sites - be great to visit some and see what other people are doing!

I think they've only listed the counties that people have submitted permaculture sites for. There's currently only three counties listed, I think...

Nicole, you are correct. At the bottom of the https://www.northwestpermaculture.org/directory.html page, we have the complete listing of available counties to post to, but we have only activated the counties where we have received submissions so far. This is a very new feature, and we are trying to get the word out and expand our entries!

The confusion on my part was due to the part where you say "County (Choose from list on the right) *" but the list on the right only has these counties:

PNW Cascadia counties list
Benton, OR
British Columbia, Canada
Clackamas, OR
Clallam, WA
Clark, WA
Clatsop, OR
Cowlitz, WA
Columbia, OR
Coos, OR
Curry, OR
Douglas, OR
Grays Harbor, WA
Island, WA
Jackson, OR
Jefferson, WA
Josephine, OR
King, WA
Kitsap, WA
Lane, OR

Perhaps it would be best to change the wording so people like myself don't get confused?

Yeah, we're looking at the bottom.

Is Pierce county just not welcome? I know Tacoma is kind of disgusting, but there is quite a bit of permaculture in the county overall.

Great work! Any way to add Del Norte and maybe Humboldt, Trinity and Siskiyou County in NW California to the list? In Del Norte county, just south of the OR border, we have more in common ecologically and culturally with the NW than the rest of CA. We also have an immense potential capacity for permaculture here and as an essentially island community (amongst a sea of mountains and forest wilderness) could benefit greatly from the regional autonomy it could provide. I'd love to help however I can.

This is my thoughts entirely about including Humboldt/Del Norte/Trinity/Siskiyo(spelling?). I've been researching and writing up a business/homestead model for a small 15-30 acre site for the past 6mos and am now turning to the networking aspects. Definitely following this thread.
