I'll predicate that english was my least interesting subject.

Taking the unnecessary stuff out of the sentence, it can help you make sense of it. So i removed "to these toys" and "to a var......" .This version makes more sense to me.

Sometimes the answer is nothing

In my mind, it depends on whether the plural of "toys" means "many toys of one type/category," in which case it would be the first, or, "many toys of multiple types/categories," in which case it would be the second.

Growing on my small acre in SW USA; Fruit/Nut trees w/ annuals, Chickens, lamb, pigs; rabbits and in-laws onto property soon.

Number one is bad. Number two and number three mean slightly different things...

If there were multiple addictions to different, non-interchangeable types of toys, the plural "addictions" would be proper, but in any case, I think the singular "addiction" reads better and doesn't confuse the sense of the sentence.

Yes, the first sentence is not correct in any situation.
