I'm trying to post an image from the bush in my mobile device with real slow internet. There is no "insert image" button or anything like that in mobile view, so I'm trying the html code <img src="URL"> (mind you i know nothing about code and that's probably really obvious right now) but it doesn't work.

I've also tried just attaching it right from my phone directly, but it uploads so slowly on this website that i eventually just get an error message.

Any other suggestions?

Is your issue that your device times out before you can finish the upload? It would probably help to reduce the resolution of your image. Or what browser are you using? I used to have painfully slow internet. My first move with a new firefox install was to open about:config, filter for "timeout", then on each entry that looked potentially relevant, multiply the value by four. Hardly ever timed out after that.

Or are you wanting an image host, to try uploading to a different server? I'm fond of postimage.org. I find it works well with mobile. Of the links it generates, I use the one marked "direct link". Just know there are dozens or more free image hosts, so if you don't like mine, try another.

I have no idea what your level of "tech savvy" is, but in case you don't know, <img src="URL"> won't work with a filepath for the image stored on your device. The URL has to be on an accessible server on the internet. You won't have a proper URL to put into that tag until after you upload.

It might be another thing that mobile view is missing? We're working to revamp the mobile view to make it more useful.

Try scrolling to the bottom of your screen and clicking "desktop view." If you can't upload from that, than the problem might be something else.

I switched my desktop view to mobile view and I'm seeing the place to attach images. I'm going to try to attach a screenshot...if it doesn't work, well, we'll have learned something!

Need to resize them to under 700. I think its the rule, but also speeds up the transfer.

Yes, that's the one that times out on me before I can get it uploaded. Perhaps I just need to resize them. What I need is an "embed image" button that takes url.

I got the <img src="URL"> code to work. I had to switch to "desktop view" on my image sharing site to get the 'embed' link rather than the 'share' link that was available in Mobile view.

Thanks so much for your help everyone!

Ah, yes, here's the different BB codes we have:

[b]Bold [/b]
[i]Italics[/i]
[u]underline[/u]
[strike]strick[/strike]
[quote]quote[/quote]
[list]list[/list]
[img]image[/img]
[url=http://]webpage[/url]
[youtube]youtube[/youtube]
[vimeo]vimeo[/vimeo]
[color=red] red color (you can put in the HTML color code to get specific colors, or type in color names to get a green or blue, etc)[/color]
[size=18] large font (normal font is [size=12] normal[/size])[/size]

(I "disabled BB code in this message" to make the codes visible)

Yes! Just insert the image's url (for those that might not know how to find a image url: right-click on an image and "copy image address")

please buy my thing and then I'll have more money:
