I love the 30 photo challenges I'm finding on the internet.  They are great for playing with ideas and images I wouldn't normally photograph.

You can challenge yourself to take 20-30 photos in a month (I like 30) and post a photo a day, or go at a slower pace.  There's a lot of flexibility.

I wonder... What would a permaculture photo challenge look like?

Why not make a list for the month of October?  Anyone up for this?

(this thread is about making list(s) for the photo challenges.  When we have a list, we can start a new thread for posting photos in the challenge)

I have a deck of permaculture playing cards in front of me, so I pulled some out at random.  So I'll use these for inspiration to start the list.

1 Beyond Compost
2 apple tree
3 food preservation
4 food as medicine
5 dandelion
6 cast iron
7 replacing irrigation with permaculture
8 bugs, weeds, funguses &/or microorganisms
9 wildcrafting
10 mulberry

sweet.
thanks for the ideas.

I've taken some of them and made the first list: https://permies.com/t/124433/art/Permaculture-Photo-Challenge-October

But I'm thinking, if people enjoy it, we can have more photo challenges so we'll need to keep brainstorming ideas.

Themes:

Since November is winter for many people (or hot summer for the rest), the theme could be self-care.  (zone something? zero?)

December theme is community and maybe only have 20 items instead of 30 because of the holidays.

Some ideas to take or leave :)

self care :

keeping warm/ cool; climate control
tea
a small comfort
quiet
just for you
aroma
shelter
nutritious treat
stress

community:

gathering
help
feast
bartered goods
share the surplus
games
tradition

Wintery (sorry southern hemisphere):

fire
warmth
dormant
evergreen
light in the dark
darkest day
houseplant, green house
hunkered down/bundled up

She said size doesn't matter, so I showed her this tiny ad:
