Yep, my sleeping loft is opposite that little platform...I can actually step over to it from the larger sleeping loft.

The kitchen ceiling is about 6' 10" which the sleeping loft is above ( leaving about 5' for the sleeping loft.

Stepping out of the kitchen, one steps into a 12' cathedral ceiling....so my initial plans didn't include that platform which some what removes the sudden large air space overhead.   ...but I like the usability of that platform space, so I'll keep it  :)

The rain came briefly today...and gave all the creatures a chance to drink off the leaves.

The squirrels, braver by the day, driven by thirst to visit my kitchen when they hear me pouring water.  Bees and bumble bees, sensing my water come to investigate.

And then comes the rain, the desperate tension subsides, the birds make happy noises, the insects fly less intensly, and the squirrles relax their kitchen forays.

still some smoke left in the air, maybe 1/3 there was at the worst of it...

caught up on some news: the organic farm Clayton is working on got infested with an insect which eats the root hair off the plants.

=/

too much talk I suppose, not finished with the east wall yet.
