Was this the splitting method you were referring to?
I came across this a while back and thought that could be rather handy when you're wanting to cut boards without either taking a mill/jig with you, or having to haul the log to a stationary mill.
The holy trinity of wholesomeness: Fred Rogers - be kind to others; Steve Irwin - be kind to animals; Bob Ross - be kind to yourself
Mark you found him! It works....takes awhile on my chainsaw though....and it was my second attempt.
While I have a low profile chain, it isn't a ripping chain...locals don't carry a 43 gauge ripper.
The current battery chainsaws do take a little longer on regular tasks.
I am glad you posted the vid....for the average user, swinging the tip is an ingredient to death or dismemberment....but if a person has the skill and is paying attention carefully -his technique works.
Organic food cost data for both myself and other people considering the Ant option.
From May 14th to June 18th
$111 + $71 + $125 = $307 dollars for a 34 day period.
Keep in mind I am trying to lose weight, I am generally vegan in addition to eating organic, and at the end of a 10 day period, I still have some food left (on purpose in case I get sick for a 3 days or less period).
Furthermore, I will not attempt refrigeration until I have my frame up and my one season roof on: my food has to be in one serving portions or dry food that I can secure from squirrels, mice, insects and other four legged critters.
My point being, one might be able to lower the cost but I believe one should plan on spending $300 per month or $3,600 per year for the first three years until your perennials are feeding you.
it rained heavily for the previous two days...
...in Ant Village, until one builds a shelter, getting oneself and clothes dry without extra temp construction is miserable..
...this makes rainy days planning days
