I'm trying to think of a way to make it easier to search/find things for sale. Maybe we could have a kind of standardized way of writing listings like maybe:

Subject: [For Sale] Used blender-- $25 (Seattle area)

I have a blender for sale. It's been used for a few years but still works great. I bought a new one, so I'm selling the old one. Here's a picture

[picture here]

It's $25 and can be picked up by anyone local. If you pay for shipping, I can also ship it to you.

PM me for exact address and ways to pay.

Thanks!

Does this seem like a good format? How can we refine it for ease of use?

I edited into the intro thread:
Make your subject line easy for people to know what you have or want. "Selling 2 Dexter cows, Kansas, USA"  "Looking for a male Nubian Goat, Brisbane, AU"

And I put in the intro thread do NOT put your contact info, email etc, I'd say "Will accept paypal" but don't put addresses.

I seriously know WAY too much about how easy it is to stalk people. Private info needs to stay private. It might not matter right now in their lives, but what about in 5 years, when things have changed, and their address is easy to find? Give someone determined an email address, and couple of casual posts, and they are pretty easy to find, by searching the rest of the net against it. Try googling your own email address, you might be clear, a LOT of folks aren't... and it's stalker food. A lot of people who have things like autopay set up on their electric bill, etc, show up a location really easily.
end rant.
I vote "will accept paypal" and the details go in PM.

Good point! I removed that from the example!
