Ostrich fern and ramps sources?

I’m looking to plant these and let them go in a downhill, mostly shaded site. It’s pretty big and I figured unless I want to wait 10 years, I need to buy in quantity. Anyone have a recommendation re buying large quantities of these from a specific source?

I was going to steer you towards the Ramp Farm in WV were I got mine a decade ago, but apparently they closed down last year :(

I emailed another source and will update as soon as I hear back from them, and again if I order some to provide a review.

While I don't know where to get living ramps for transplant, I purchased ramp seeds last fall from seedman. Hope this helps!

I just moved to a new home and have a long strip of shade garden that needs to get planted next to a walking path along the North Side of my home (back wall). It literally never sees the sun but is open fully with no trees near by. Decent light as far as full shade goes.

Might as well make it edible AND beautiful. The ramps might go well under the fruit trees I have been... and will continue to put in.

When ramps are in season, there are usually several people on EBay selling them in larger quantities for food. I can’t see any reason why you couldn’t plant them.

https://www.prairiemoon.com/search.html has both ostrich fern and ramps as bare root at $8 and $7. They won't have been selected for flavor: Prairie Moon focuses on restoration. Still. I was just reading the forager chef who points out that if you buy farmer's market ramps with full bulbs they transplant well.

I like that site! I wouldn't have thought there were so many plants that would grow under black walnut trees. Now I have another good spot for the ramps.

I wrote to a few ramp sellers (who I have no experience with) and heard back from both.  This one appears to be cheaper:  LedgeRock Farm

They sell 1 lb at $10/lb, but the best price is $9/lb at 3 pounds ($27) (not sure why they charge more per pound for 4 or 5 pounds).  I asked them how many per pound and they got back to me that it's generally between about 30-50 bulbs/pound.  So at the 3 lbs price that's conservatively about 27 cents per bulb plus shipping....not bad!
