Hey Everyone,
I actually have a lot on my mind and to express to this amazing think-tank, and I am trying to get it out there as efficiently and effectively as possible.
(I have "bootstrapped" my entire life, and have been learning as I go)
I am trying to create amazing places to heal the world. I want to get a 4-500sf kitchen designed, that captures and filters and stores the rain
water and that somehow connects to a rocket
cob oven? With
cob wall on north side. Inside, which would heat water to flow at a sink where dishes can be washed after meal
To introduce myself, (it's relevant to topic) my name is Orion. I will be 29 next month. I have been interested and studying or practicing
permaculture for close to 10 years now. In the past 7, I've gone from homeless to owning 5 acres, starting and building 2 businesses and recently a 3rd, and was recently forced to start another as I have been hired to help another person design and build thier farm! Amazing times...
Both properties I live and work on are completely off-grid, no running water, or electricity. One property, where I have lived part time for two years has one 180sf cabin. Bare bones with windows and a metal roof.
I own a tree service company, so I trim and remove
trees, and a construction company. I have even worked on 5 treehouses and intend to build some soon. I am now trying to put together two teams to work on the projects, and both projects will require a community kitchen ASAP.
The first 2 years at the "Sanctuary" I observed, then began clearing and building a little over two years ago. We have an orchard planted in sacred geometry in the center and are expanding it with another 60 trees right now.
I am ashamed to say, my infrastructure is seriously lacking and cooking might be done on a propane stove over the coals of a recreational fire ( I get tons of
wood owning a tree company). Last year the house burned down after a rushed/emergency and cheap
wood stove installment was left unattended to help a neighbor, so the tiny cabin is currently heated with a propane heater.
I am really striving to always live in a more sacred way. I want to honor and not waste any resources.
I need the most basic possible model for an ultra efficient/complete kitchen space for a community of up to 12 on 5 acres. It can include small
solar.
When the house burned down I lost everything. 15k to bounce back. Now I want to make sure any fire installations I do are full proof.
I know this community is amazing, and I am open to whatever comes organically.
Potential hopes:
1) "This wheel has already been invented. Her you go!"
2)Amazing, insightful/inspiring examples and ideas!
3) Someone who has
experience building these exact kind of things and is nomadic is interested in coming and co-creating this, and I can pay them a reasonable amount in addition to hosting them!
4) I am interested in workshop/hands on cob building, rocket design ovens stoves, etc.( I am aware of paul's upcoming jubilee learning thing.... I am interested and trying to see if I can budget the ticket and trip and my personal expenses.)
4.5) I do really need to learn these skills.
5) Tips, pointers, and guidance beyond the kitchen.
6) Maybe a few of us create this, and it becomes a new model!?
Very wet here can't Wafiti. My friend who I am helping is in Texas and Wafiti and earth/cob/adobe is the plan there.
Thanks Everyone!!!
