Hello from Louisiana

Hey, my name is Britton.  I'm not sure precisely how I found the forums but I've been very impressed by it.  I have been increasingly interested in homesteading over the years, sparked by revelations about the food industry and what real, ancestral food is.  What prompted me to join the forums was the Wheaton Labs website, the courses look incredible!  I'm single and have a half-acre in Louisiana that I really don't know what to do with, so these courses seem like exactly what I need.  I am thinking about buying a ticket, especially before the early bird deadline, but I want to know which one(s) are right for me.  I'm pretty new to this whole thing, I don't have much farming or permaculture experience but I'm very excited about the opportunities and I'm a good learner.  So, where or to whom should I direct my questions to?  Thanks for being permies and doing the important work you do!

Britton, welcome to Permies! You've just joined an excellent community. It's a big place, though, so learning your way around will take some exploration. One place to start is to take a look at the list of available forums. I linked to it here, but you'll find the "all forums" button at the bottom of the left-hand sidebar. It will give you an idea of the topics of discussions in our various forums. We are all at different levels of our permaculture journey, and you are very welcome to ask questions and join in the conversations!

Thank you Anne.  I got an excellent response to my question in the PDC thread.  I've found the threads to the other courses as well for further questions.  If I wasn't in college, I'd certainly consider the work trade option.  Thanks for suggesting the singles forum!
