Well, where do we begin. Story time.....
Once upon a time, in Tennessee a single gal decided to get off grid. She wondered where to begin, and how much easier it could be with someone who had the resources and skills she didn't.

Ok. So, I'm an artist. Raised very old fashioned.  Grew up in the big city, moved to the burbs and spent 3 months every summer on a hundred acre farm in Canada.  3 months, learing to milk a cow, feed the critters and help with gardening.  I know how to cook, sew, clean, bake basic canning and knit and crochet. Very happy disposition and bright glow. No clouds please. Anyway, how can this story begin?......your thoughts please

I clocked out of the rat race to about 11 years ago.  I moved into the inner city where houses are close to free and started growing my food on top of my house.  made quadruple glass windows to save energy and get 50% of my heating from passive solar.  I am looking on getting a Toyota Prius for an electric generator and house heater to get off the gas/electric grid.  Preparing to harvest my own water by the time 6 Chinese petro/chimical cracking plants are completed on the Ohio river.  Kept my 19 year old car that is easy to fix.  I wish you luck on your endeavors.

Hi,
You sound like a woman in transition.   I am as well.   This summer we are opening a school for Women Veterans to teach them Self-sustainability, permaculture, and mycology (Mushroom farming).

Perhaps instead of a partner, you may want to look into a lifestyle job.  Tell me if this might interest you?

School is just starting up and we will only have 4 students the first year while bugs are worked out.   Everyone helps run the farm.  Everyone's shares paid out profits.
We are not governmentally backed yet.  Most likely by the end of the second year, we should be.   Our primary source of income will come from our benefactor and mushroom sales.

I am looking for a partner to help run the school.  Our location is deep in the woods of the Sierra Mountian Range in California.   We will need to drive out of the forest to get to Sacramento or any other large cities.  Our students are all going to have personal issues to work through.  Trust and safety are going to be their first issues.

If you are interested can you give me a resume?  Or at least a little more on the skills you feel qualified to teach.   Can you move out here in July 2021?   You will need to get your covid shots done and keep the records.  Photos of your work from your current pantry canned goods to ?
