I want to try biochar as an ingredient of a foliar spray. Acording to John Kemf, foliar sprays benefit from hidrophilic materials that can delay evaporation.

What do you think?

Sounds interesting.  Do some with and some without so you can observe the difference.

I agree, worth a try.  I'm not sure if it will hold water up in the air like that, as it may act as a drying wick, but trying is always best.

Interesting idea. I worry that it might possibly clog up the natural functions of the leaf (stomata? memory is short), acting as a foreign body.

I'm a bit skeptical.  I feel that it would also clog the sprayer.  I think that the main benefit of biochar is hotels for microbes so that the soil food web can heal the problems through rebalancing themselves.  I don't see how spraying biochar could help that.

Aparently, it has already been done succesfully. Thy used only biochar. I didnt find an explanation on why it worked.

Regarding clogging, I think that if it is pulverized enough it will not cause it.

About drying, if the biochar arrives To the leave, it should not dry it.

If stomata were easy to clog, dust would do it antway. I am sure plants have mechanisms to prevent or fix this.

I will try next week. Thanks for the replies.

Well, char is certainly a slow-release sponge. Would pulverised char be infused with the foliar spray beforehand? I look forward to the results of your experiment.
