Hello everyone,

I have a friend who is about 8 weeks from her due date, pregnant with her second child. She has had a few pre-term labor scares already and is on bed rest for the most part. She obviously wants her baby to bake as long as possible, does anyone have any recommendations for what she should/shouldn't eat to stay as healthy as possible? She knows she needs to eat a lot of protein but says she has very little appetite, since she isn't very physically active while on bedrest.
Thanks for the tips!

I hope she is taking a daily dose of fermented cod liver oil. Quality omega 3 fats have been linked to a lower risk of preterm birth and fermented cod liver oil is the best source for these as it also supplies critical vitamin A and D for proper development of the fetus.

What is the benefit of fermented cod liver oil rather than non-fermented?

Not so much food, but keeping very well hydrated is extremely important, as dehydration can cause Braxton Hicks and other problems. All the best to her.

Fermented cod liver oil is raw and purified without heat. Heating cod liver oil destroys much of the natural vitamin A and D as well as many of the delicate micronutrients. All the other cod liver oils on the market other than the fermented are heated to obscene temperatures and the oils are not rendered as traditional societies practiced. The fermented cod liver oil is the only one for me.

If she has access to clean raw milk, she should drink 1 quart per day. Also, if fermented veggies sound good those would be great for her as well as foods cooked in grass-fed butter, liver from a grass-fed cow, and the cod-liver oil that Sarah suggested. There is a great brand on the WAPF website--it's cod liver butter, which contains the essential fats so that she can properly absorb the fat-soluble vitamins. The orange and he cinnamon flavors are my favorites so far. Best of luck to her!!

I want point out strongly. Because I feel the need to, that bed rest is very important at this stage of your pregnancy especially in your case. Please read more about pre term labour in the link below.
