Someone offered me some 2L soda carriers years ago. I wasn’t sure what to do with them at the time but they’re used every spring now. While hardened off warm season annuals I can transport eight plants at a time. There’s also a 1/2 inch piece of conduit and rope through the middle for one hand carrying.
I reuse yogurt containers for bigger plants, the pots fit perfectly in the soda carrier. I bought some tomatoes in town last week, although the plants were pretty top heavy, the whole things didn't topple over during the ride.
