I wanted to reach out and create a thread for planning in-person get-togethers for us in East Texas to connect and learn from one-another. I hope this is the right forum for that purpose.
I have 10 acres between Fairfield and Palestine. I hear there is a community in Rusk. There is a farmers market in Teague we could meet at. Lot's of options. Would love to connect with you and hear ideas :)
Lovely canopy there. Going with a forester to our property in Louisiana to talk about cutting next week, hoping it looks like that in the coming years.
If you wanna grow some seedling trees, hollar at me.
We haven't settled in just yet, but are hoping to buy a place in the Nacogdoches area this fall. My husband and I have long been interested in homesteading our own place and would love the opportunity to get to know other east Texas dwellers. Especially interested to meet others with young families, our brood needs playmates!
I would have never thought to post in intentional community for this, but it's a really good fit. I have also added this post to the regional forum. Interested parties might just assume this is another planned group homestead and never read the thread otherwise.

In western Gregg County here. Am aging a bit & have 60 acres. Wife & I teach homesteading classes at the farm and are trying to build community to help folks get stuff done. Feel free to reach out.
Lets build stuff in East Texas.
