Though my work is mostly housework, my family and I sometimes sing together while doing it. One of our new favorite groups making singable music is The Longest Johns in the UK. They have great songs, old and new, and a wonderful sense of humor that particularly comes out in their music videos. Love this stuff--oh, how to choose just a few pieces to link to?

My favorites:
  • Hog Eye Man
  • Wayfaring Stranger
  • (okay and Santiana)

  • My daughter's favorites: Hammer and the Anvil and Wellerman

My husband's favorite sounds good and creepy (and like something from a Tim Burton film): Downed and Drowned

And this is just good fun in general--

If you like folk music--you will no doubt enjoy this group very very much!

Thanks for the recommendation! Wonderful musicians playing great songs. Probably going on my regular playlists.
