By guiding rainfall into landscape, and lessening runoff to ocean, California can rehydrate itself, and in so doing lessen wildfires https://climatewaterproject.substack.com/p/rehydrating-california-to-prevent#details

That is an interesting thing to read.
I am familiar with the techniques but did not realise the extent to which the cities had trashed the state.
Would some sort of taxation on new developments and fees for not having trees etc all help to draw attention to the issues?
People and water rights are difficult, they will pump the aquifer dry rather than reduce their consumption.
I have seen it in irrigation areas of Australia where I have worked as a Civil Engineer!

Thanks for sharing that! Always looking for ways to capture and divert moisture around these parts! Think I'll start playing with placement of rocks (of which there is NO shortage!) from my yard, too!

🤔 Makes me wonder... if we had never built the aqueduct to LA and San Diego, whether the human population would have exploded here the way it has. And whether, if removed, the population would right itself...

Just subscribed to your substack, too!
