I kept seeing all these sketches of old school woodworking tools and such come up on Pinterest, but haven't found an original source.

I'm not sure if this is where they came from, but a bunch seem to be linked from this site: https://www.pa-roots.com/southbend/EricSloan/index.html

If anyone knows the actual source for these sketches (maybe a book?) I'd be interested in buying it.

They are all illustrations from various books by Eric Sloane.

I've read "Diary of an Early American Boy." I should try to find it again, I believe my parents own it. It was all about life in a two room cabin with dirt floors.

I know you said you already found the answer, but I thought I would throw out this book I bought a while ago. "Homebuilding and Woodworking in Colonial America". It had all sorts of illustrations of both the tools and joints. Given enough time, I feel like someone could build a house just with that book.
