I’m waterproofing my basement and ripping out all the damaged floorboards because the previous own failed to spend ten dollars fixing a section of gutter. So I’m well aware of what happens if you don’t manage excess rain
water.
My garden is a blank slate and I’ve put together a plan of what I want five years from now. Working backwards and downwards, I’m now doing all the prep work below ground level - digging basement window
wells and working out where all the excess rain water is going to go. It is my intention to collect as much rain water of the roof as possible. Any overflow will run in pipes to soak into the ground away from the house and under plants -
trees, shrubs, vines, veg etc. I’d also like to hook up household grey water.
Any recommendations for soak pipes? Thanks
