I am building a greenhouse for my in ground citrus trees here in zone 6 Cincinnati. The glass is all from discarded windows and half the lumber is from a discarded wood deck. Installed are 8 sheets of glass 46 inches by 76 inches.
I would love to see the greenhouse when you are finished.

Well done Stephen, that's some greenhouse! Will you keep a track of temperatures in it?
I'm toying with the idea of building an earth sheltered greenhouse to replace my polytunnel in future (do without plastic sheeting...) Collecting the glass will be the first step I guess.
The only temperature measuring equipment I have is a squash plant that will die below 32F. In the past i calculated the heat loss in a15 mph wind and add enough heat for a 30F temperature rise. I heat with lights overnight.
I was told that the football size bulb was and elephants ear. I got it in August. The green house walls are 4 glass layer thick so cold is not a problem. I will need to apply a little heat on very cold nights. I have a Pelonis heater I can set to 55- F.

Colocasia is the botanical family name for elephant's ear:
