The other night, I had a dream about a RMH that someone had built and was in operation. It was smallish and looked relatively portable, and I remember thinking (in the dream) how neat it looked, but how did that work without a riser going up?? LOL!

Ah, permie dreams!

Matt Walker has developed what he calls a "riserless core", which essentially runs the riser horizontally while achieving the same complete combustion. It does depend completely on a well-drafting chimney to work properly.
