Hi all,

I have launched a Kickstarter for "Magical, Mystical CHAI (And How To DIY!)"

"Experience Grandmother's Chai! To India we will fly, with Jade, Ollie, Amy and friends, for a story of mystical spices and blends. See how the conquest of India actually ends in sharing the magical healing of Chai, ...with people as far away... as You & I!"

Honestly, Chai is just downright DELICIOUS! But the healing properties of these spices is absolutely phenomenal. With the upcoming cold and flu season approaching, I needed a fun, simple way to share that info with a wide audience and give them an easy starting point for making it themselves. More than that, I wanted a homeschool project to engage my own kids in creating with me. They have storyboarded the ideas, brainstormed the character sketches, written much of the rhyming storyline, and created compositions for my final illustrations!  And of course, together we came up with the idea for Grandmother's cockatiel which can be found somewhere on every page (an essential part of any children's book!)

With a fun storyline and 28 full color illustrations, the book is visually engaging, racially inclusive and adds a bit of the history and origin of the drink as well as a comprehensive Chai Spice Recipe and chart of the "Healing Chai Spices."

As an Artist, Permaculture Designer and mother of 8 (yep, EIGHT!). I've had a personal mission to write and illustrate books that would bond adults and kids together in the experience of learning about practical endeavors and and acquiring skills that help them create, grow and build new things!

This Kickstarter is for printing the first round of books. When it closes, backers will immediately get the "How To Brew CHAI" recipe just in time for the Holidays (& cold / flu season) as well as the printable "Healing Chai Spices" chart and coloring pages. Then the book will follow (if you purchased that tier) soon after production.

If you'd like to back my project go to CHAI KICKSTARTER PROJECT.

Thanks guys!

Can you tell us a little about the characters in your book or would that be too much of a spoiler for the book?

This looks awesome!

I'm sure folks could click the kickstarter link to find out, but for the click averse, maybe add some quickly glance-able details to the first post:

How many pages is it?  And you wrote and illustrated it yourself?  That's amazing!  And maybe, "Why Chai?"  It might help folks to know a bit of your story about why you're so passionate about getting this message out!

Sure! Love to share a bit!

The back cover book description introduces the characters and style.... "Experience Grandmother's Chai! To India we will fly, with Ollie, Amy and all of their friends, for a story of mystical spices and blends. See how the conquest of India actually ends in sharing the magical healing of Chai, ...with people as far away... as You & I!"

Honestly, Chai is just downright DELICIOUS! But to understand the healing that these spices promote in the human body is absolutely phenomenal. I needed a fun, simple way to share that info with a wide audience and give them an easy starting point for making it themselves. More than that, I wanted a homeschool project to engage my own kids in helping me create. They have storyboarded the ideas, brainstormed the character sketches, written much of the rhyming storyline, and created compositions for my final illustrations!  And of course, together we came up with the idea for Grandmother's cockatiel which can be found somewhere on every page (an essential part of any children's book!)

With a fun storyline and 28 full color illustrations, the book is visually engaging, racially inclusive, and adds a bit of the history and origin of the drink as well as a comprehensive Chai Spice Recipe and chart of the "Healing Chai Spices.".

I love the idea of offering something practical and fun that kids and adults can create together to enhance their lives!

Thanks for your questions guys! It helps me realize what exactly is unique about this project.

If I do "Promote Your Stuff" do I just basically copy the original post, but in that category? And really, I'm not sure how (or where) to add pies, thumbs up, etc. Do I add them to your helpful posts? Or my own or...?

You can use the "thread boost" feature to add this post to other forums.  You can also use thread boost to show this thread as a "similar thread" to other threads that users are looking at, and a host of other bits and bots.  The DX5 is the "tiny ad" that runs at the bottom of all of our emails - that's a popular one, too.

Kristie,
How can I purchase this children's book, Magical, Mystical, Chai and how to DIY?
Thank you,
Emily

The glass is neither half full or half empty. It is too big. But this tiny ad is just right:
