So it used to be that when I would announce the podcast at facebook, the new logo would show up:

Now it doesn't show up.

It seems to make a huge difference at facebook. I thought the pig-in-a-day podcast could have done really good at facebook - but facebook is sorta picture centric.

And now, the next podcast is really good too. But I don't want to post it until the facebook problem is fixed.

Anybody have any ideas on how things got broken?

Fscebook normally just grap the 1st pic it see on a page that you link so if you put that image higher up on the page or make it the only image on the page it might work?
I have never seen the facebook announcement. Can you provide a link to it.

It used to be that I would post and it would say "I found 12 pics - which one is the thumbnail you wanna use?" Now it says there are 3 pics and none of them are the podcast logo.

I'm trying to find examples, but .... WTF - a bunch of podcasts aren't even showing up. ??

.[.img] https://permies.com/t/logo.png .[./.img]

It doesn't seem to regonise the .[.img] picture.[./img] tag. to facebook its just text.
so I would just use a 2 links.
a regular https://permies.com/t/logo.png for facebook and
a .[.img] https://permies.com/t/logo.png .[./img] for inline display on permies.com

It could also be the .png format, try using jpg/jpeg/bmp/svg

When I go to https://permies.com/t/20358/podcast/Podcast-Review-Pig-Day and inspect the picture/logo in my browser it shows up as just a regular <img>...</img> tag.
However based on what facebook is showing .[.img] https://permies.com/t/logo.png .[./.img] vs <img>...logo.png</img> they are doing a deeper inspection.

I just tested this and I think it works:

Use the link from the post itself, https://permies.com/forums/posts/list/20438#169974 (right-click the tiny page symbol next to the date at the top of the post), and then it let's you choose a photo from that post, in addition to photos from the main site.

I recently noticed that posting a link to a thread no longer let's you choose photos from within that thread. Choosing just the one post in a thread is a bit awkward, but I think it will still work.

Except fo following a link to a specific post in the poster's listing or to the latest post of a thread, how do we get a link to specific post? Is there a way?

Right-click the tiny page symbol next to the date at the top of the post and choose Copy link address.

Here's a pic of the page symbol for the URL.

I dont quite understand what your question is.

But if you scroll through a thread/post you will see something that is similar to "posted Today 21:52:21" right across from the poster name if you right-click on it it will give you a specific link.
and every person who replied will have a different one.

Each link will show you the entire thread at most it will scroll you 1/2 way down the page/thread, but you can still scroll up or down to see the rest

Seems like FB is creating more problems.

Any embedded code such as will show up on the link preview. Anybody knows how to get around this new problem?

I don't have a Facebook account. Last time I helped Paul with something similar, I created a dummy account, the credentials for which I no longer remember. Adrien/Paul, there's a way all of this can be tracked down via a Facebook provided webpage but that requires a Facebook account. I'll send you more details about this in a mail so that we can figure out what's going on.
