My poor, poor city boy. After a few months of neglect and a California rainy season I have 3 ft tall mallow in the back yard. I have made paths through it for easier foraging. Hubby decides he's going in with a weed whacker  ummm NO . In these uncertain times will you willfully throw away gifted food? Post discussion well? What about this stuff? ...NOPE. That is stinging nettle and it's good for you too! So for a while he points out random weeds ( in his opinion) and I  proceed to tell him what it's good for.  " I really ate those weeds?  Yep remember last week you asked what the green stuff was? I told you it was southern spinach  with the bacon and vinegar? Yes it was good. There ya go. I'll be canning the rest this week.

Back when my grandmother was alive I smoked some spare ribs and delivered them to her. She later called me up and said they were the best she ever had, and she could really cook.

I said, Not bad for lamb huh?”

“Well it’s good as long as you do not know what you are eating “.

She never had lamb as growing up on a sheep farm she loved the baby lambs.

Something that is a sneaky way to get uncommon foods into the diet is to use powders as a seasoning.

Here are some threads that goes along with that idea:

Ahh... I recently discovered that some people think Tofu is gross...

It's a blank slate really. It is usually put with strong flavors and stuff. Like mabodofu or in soups. Or deep fried, marinated, cut like a pita and stuffed...

So to win over a specific person, I made tofu dango. Some with chocolate powder sugar and some with brown sugar syrup. 😋

Dango pictured below. The package in the picture is for the brown sugar. I used leftover jirushi from okinawa since it was available. Regular brown sugar works too.

So, moral of the story is, when in doubt, make dessert

There are no more "hours", it's centi-days. They say it's better, but this tiny ad says it's stupid:
