need help with my email stuff

Help! My Permies account is broken!  For whatever reason, for about a week now when I go to the permies forums, I encounter a notice that there's something wrong with my email address, that "permies is unable to contact you at your address" and that I'm forced to change it.  Except there's an error every time i try to save those changes.  So today I gave up hoping that someone would notice that something was wrong; and started looking for the "contact us" link.  But I couldn't even see this thread without logging out first. Can anyone help me, please?  Also, as far as I can tell, my email is working fine. I still get all the dailyish emails.  -Creighton Samuels

So part of what you are saying is that you are trying to get set up with a new email address, but permies is not doing that?

I merged your stuff with the following thread. I hope that is okay by you.

I had to make a new account, because my regular account has been broken for a few weeks now. I still get the Dailyish, but whenever I click through I get an error page that says roughly "We can't contact you via your email address...please change it to a real address".  So I click through and try to provide another address, but it won't save anything either, so I'm stuck in a loop; and I couldn't even post to this forum without a new account.  I waited this long because I was hoping that it was something that someone with power would notice, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

I looked into it and we are making some mods to our software.  But I saw the emails.  Permies sends an email to freeshell.org and freeshell.org rejects it.  

The mods to our software are to make it so the bounce message is sent to you via PM.

Is the new email address gmail or protonmail?

Sorry for the delay.  I have been distracted this afternoon.  I wouldn't have changed my email unless forced into it, but I do have more than one available.

I was now old when I learned that my other post from 2 days ago actually existed. I couldn't see evidence of that before.

Creighton, we've found at least two more people facing the same problem as you, so I think you might have found a glitch, and it might be affecting a lot of people! Thank you for finding and reporting it.

I might be able to merge both your accounts together and manually make the email address linked to "Creighton Samuelss" be your primary email address (you'd have your normal name, rather than the extra s, and you'd keep all your apples, etc). This might fix the issue for you, but it wouldn't fix the actual glitch.

Would you like to help with testing and fixing this glitch, or would you like me to try and fix things for you so don't have to deal with this any more?

I would very much like to be a part of the solution.  What prompted me to do it this way was because I learned about the early-bird stuff from the new kickstarter from Jack Spirko, and I was trying to determine how much of it I already had before deciding on  my pledge.

Our developer thinks he has found the glitch! He's going to be putting out a deployment to fix the glitch today, so hopefully you'll be able to change your email address tomorrow!

Dunno what mail host our sadly-ejected member uses, but If Permies is sending from an account that GMail doesn't like, those will sometimes bounce (it's not consistent). GMail wants an SPF for the sending domain. (Which means nothing to me but does mean something to your domain host.)

In the irony of ironies, I can't change my regular account to use the gmail address because now the system errors out because "we already have a user registered with that email".

I went and merged your new account into your old one. Sadly, PMs don't transfer, so if you sent PMs under "Creighton Samuelss," and want access to them, I can go in and copy and send them to you.

Your account still has your old email address as your primary email address. I marked it as "valid," but I'm not sure how long that will last. See if you can switch your email addresses so your gmail one is the primary email address. If that doesn't work, I'll see if I can manually do it!
