I carved this spoon last night.  It was a very knotty, twisted piece with a split in the area that would become the handle.  I almost threw it away, but I think it turned out to be the prettiest spoon I've made yet.  I curved the handle to work around the split, then cut out a knot at the end and reflected the design in the bowl.  I think it looks kind of like a leaf.

Kind of a metaphor regarding people…

We all have flaws but never should be given up upon!

Great job on the spoon.

Have you ever tried spalted beech? Very difficult to work but gorgeous when completed!

Very pretty, and looks like it could get in an scape sauce out of a pot or bowl effectively as well!
