Cherokee Tomato Plant- I've tried giving this plant a 4-6-3 organic nutrient supplement (I would be full organic, but I started late and didn't want to miss a season of learning)...but its been a good week, and I've seen no change, maybe even slightly more dying/droopy leaves...anyone have any suggestions? All answers are appreciated!!

Has the plant been getting enough water?  That is a sign of not enough water when a leaves curls.  Or that could be a sign of too much sun.

I was watering fairly regularly...then I noticed on back side of leaves, the veins were purple...so I gave it food...but I'm still not having luck here...it may need more water? I could try it...it does seem more frail-like since I fed it a week ago

The sun...maybe...I guess it's getting sun from around 10 or 11 am - late evening

Hi Brandon, when did you plant your tomato?  Does the pot have drainage holes in the bottom?

I transplanted about 1.5 month ago. Yes that pot/soil drains particularly fast I feel like....I feel like the soil is more mulch-y than normal...

Black or purple varieties of tomatoes tend to have darker stems and leaves too. This plant seems to have pale leaves indicating a nutritional boost is necessary. What are the roots look like? If you transplanted 6 weeks ago, the healthy roots should occupy the medium by now and peep out of the drain hole. Make sure it's not root bound as that will reduce the efficiency of taking up the nutrients.

Zone 6, 45 inches precipitation, hard clay soil

🤔 ok, it shouldn't be transplant shock. Mulchy soil is fine, and least I haven't had a problem with it.  I might agree, you may need a larger pot.  Other than that, maybe time.  Sometimes these things work themselves out. Good luck.

So, I transplanted to a bigger pot...and fed nutrients....its doing much better now after about 2 weeks... thank you everyone for input and suggestions!!
