We're seeking a replacement for Judy, the utility truck we use to haul heavy stuff on the regular. Local resources haven't turned up anything suitable, so we're turning to the permies community for some assistance.

Here are some details on the truck we're seeking:
- 1 ton (or greater) duallie
- 4WD
- gasoline engine preferred
- crew cab preferred
- newer than year 2000 strongly-preferred
- Our current budget is a hard less-than-$10K
- Please don't be too far from Missoula, MT

A service body of any specific kind is not required. We've looked into flat-beds and are totally open to the idea. Judy's water tank is not needed any longer since with the very recent, new well installation at Basecamp we have access to practically-unlimited amounts of water for irrigation at both Basecamp and the Lab.

Can you help us out? Willing to review any serious offer. Feel free to PM me with details. Thanks in advance!

For reference, here's a very recent picture of Judy. She's a 1989 Chevy 3500C (I think?) utility truck. 4WD, crew cab.

Can I ask what is wrong with that truck?
I am in Australia and have a philosophy of rebuilding and maintaining these trucks.
I have a 1976 C30 flat tray with a 296 cub. inch 6 cyl.
Parts are reasonably priced and working on them is easy because of all the room.
If you have a V8 its a bit cramped.

There's been a persistent exhaust manifold issue, that the mechanics have seen as a likely wellspring for a host of issues they've patched up over time. For whatever reason, rebuilding that hasn't been on the table.
We brought Judy back from the mechanics a couple days ago, and on the short ride back we detected what we suspect are some misfiring pistons.

This wouldn't be a problem, were we able to have a boot dedicated to sorting out these issues and spending their time on nothing but the repair tasks. Unfortunately, that's not the current situation. So we're looking for replacement at this point. We have hauling that needs to be done.

I must say that your philosophy is an admirable one, John. I'd love to see that classic truck in action...! :)
